We are very excited to have so many students from Rising Goddess Fitness competing at the PSO Central Pole Competition at the end of this month! Take a look below to learn a little bit about what inspires them, any advice they might have, and some other fun facts!
They’ve put in tons of hard work to prepare and we wish them the best of luck! If you’d like to support your fellow goddesses by attending, competition and ticket info can be found here.

- What is your favorite song to dance to?
My favorite song to dance to is quantum immortality by Crywolf. (Performance still to come!) - What do you love most about pole fitness?
What I love about pole fitness is that we are surrounded by women and men who push themselves beyond their body’s limits to entertain and put on a great performance. - What inspires you to compete?
Ever since gateway 2018, I’ve signed up for 4 other pole competitions (PSO and Aerialympics) because competing is addicting!! I also love the community and coming from competitive ice skating, pole competitions are much different and competitors share a bond and become friends in the process. - Do you have any advice for anyone entering their first competition or thinking about competing?
If you’re entering your first competition don’t overthink it (like I did the first time). Go with a song you love to dance to and incorporate your favorite pole tricks. - What other hobbies/activities do you enjoy, outside of pole and aerial?
I enjoy orange theory fitness and getting back into figure skating, as well as traveling and wine tasting! - What is your favorite, binge-worthy tv show?
My favorite tv show is Shameless! Gallagher ❤️

- What is your favorite song to dance to?
Lately, my favorite songs have been Meg Myers- Desire remix and Disclosure-Omen. It varies week by week depending on my mood and what I’m feeling at the moment. - What do you love most about pole fitness?
The way I can best describe this, is that pole fitness/dancing has made me a whole person. It got me through some rough stages of my life and was able to explore who I am and who I can become. - What inspires you to compete?
It forces me to think outside the box and stay in-tune with my creative side. I almost didn’t compete this year, but Michelle reminded me that I might regret it if I don’t do it. I know I would have felt like I was missing out exploring on the possibilities! Also…YOLO. - Do you have any advice for anyone entering their first competition or thinking about competing?
If you feel like you want to do it… JUST DO IT! Run with it. There’s a whole tribe here that will help and support you throughout the whole process. It doesn’t matter your level or experience. Also….YOLO. - What other hobbies/activities do you enjoy, outside of pole and aerial?
I LOVE self-care, meditation, photography, painting and traveling. - What is your favorite, binge-worthy tv show?
I’ve been binge-watching the OA lately… SO GOOD! Watch it if you like Sci-Fi drama :-)

- What is your favorite song to dance to?
This depends SO much on my mood. “Party in your bedroom” by Cash Cash is a real good one! - What do you love most about pole fitness?
I love the freedom of it. There’s so many levels you can play with. You can seamlessly incorporate floor work, accents, more advanced tricks…it can all happen in one space. It’s amazing! - What inspires you to compete?
I just want to always be growing. Competition had given me a solid goal to constantly work towards and is allowing me to build my own choreography. Its been teaching me so much about my own style! - Do you have any advice for anyone entering their first competition or thinking about competing?
You’re going to have bad days, like REALLY bad days. Days where you get on the pole and have NO idea what you’re doing. That is okay! Don’t give up and keep with it, you’ll have a better practice next time. Draw inspiration from your classes, use your instructors and classmates as resources. Be proud of your progress and your accomplishments. You’ll be AMAZING! - What other hobbies/activities do you enjoy, outside of pole and aerial?
I’m trying to get back into reading regularly. I love snuggling with my cats, playing video games, doing yoga, hanging with my lady friends. - What is your favorite, binge-worthy tv show?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is my JAM. I can watch it all the time 😊

The mix of creativity and strength - What inspires you to compete?
I was inspired after watching my instructors Mandy and Melissa compete in Alethea Austin’s exotic competition last summer. That night I bought some sparkly heels and said I guess I should learn to dance in heels and here we are. - Do you have any advice for anyone entering their first competition or thinking about competing?
Don’t overthink it. You already know where your strengths lie and what you love about pole. Honor those things and include them. Don’t try to become someone you aren’t to be competitive - What other hobbies/activities do you enjoy, outside of pole and aerial?
I really love cats (I have 5 🙀), getting tattoos of my cats, watching drag shows and slowly redecorating my house. - What is your favorite, binge-worthy tv show?
I’m more of a fall down the black hole known as YouTube kind of girl. I have spent days watching videos of Soul Train dance lines. The clothes, the hair, the moves….perfection.
