That moment you try on your first pair of pole heels is filled with a feeling of total empowerment - and perhaps a little bit of wobbly uncertainty! Learning to walk (let alone dance) in pole heels is an art of its own.
Many people just put on a pair without proper training and then struggle to really feel confident while moving in heels. It takes baby steps (pun, intended) and we’ll explore them in this 75-minute workshop.
During our time together, we’ll discuss the dos and don’ts of wearing heels. You’ll learn about the science behind pole heels while discovering ways to shift your posture and bodyweight to move gracefully. You’ll walk away (dare we say, strut away!) with exercises you can do to help keep your feet safe. And we’ll bring everything together by exploring a mini sequence designed to get you moving in your heels both on the floor and pole.
This workshop will leave you feeling confident and empowered in starting your pole heels journey. Get ready to take on the world one step at a time!
Prerequisite: Must be enrolled in at least Essentials Pole Dance.
Required: Please bring a pair of pole heels with you. If you’re just starting out with dancing in heels, we recommend opting for a 6” heel height with an ankle strap. No slide-ons will be permitted. We do not recommend boots for beginners as they can create a false sense of stability. Knee pads are also recommended.

Allow your mood to direct the way you move your body.
Just as your mood changes daily, movement can be dynamic and can shift alongside it.
Feeling joyful and wanting to move? Dance to a fun, upbeat song!
Feeling stressed out or blah? Try a simple stretching or yoga routine.
Feeling low on energy but still want to move your body? Go for a walk and breathe in some fresh air.

Tuning into the language of our bodies can be very enlightening.
So much can be revealed to us when we listen to our bodies. Our bodies are continually speaking, sending us messages through the way we move, the sensations that arise from within and the gestures and expressions we make as we communicate with others.
To become more in-tune with this communication, start taking notice of what your body tells you. Greet each sensation as a message carrying wisdom from within. Tune into what your body tells you in regards to people you meet or situations that arise.
We are already subconsciously receptive to the language of our bodies. When we choose to consciously acknowledge it, we hear and understand so much about ourselves and the people around us.
Cleanse old energies, create and set new intentions, and manifest a fresh start. The New Moon is the start of a new lunar cycle and is the best time for self-development, shadow work, and creating new opportunities. The New Moon is a time of new beginnings and renewal.
In this 75 minute workshop with Barb, you will be guided through some brief journaling specific to the Rose Moon’s cycle with a focus on being centered, grounded, and replenished! Journaling will be followed by mindful breathwork and meditation to encourage manifestation of your individual Rose New Moon intentions. You will achieve full relaxation as you're guided through various supported restorative poses specific to the Rose Moon’s energies. These poses allow your body, mind, spirit, emotions, and soul to attune to the natural rhythms of the world around you within a cozy, quiet, soft lit space.
