This month we’re celebrating RGF’s 10th Anniversary! In celebration, we’re featuring some of our longest members here at the studio.
Presenting Lauren!
What inspired you to join RGF a decade ago?
Well I was taking pole classes at a different studio about a year before and I already knew Michelle and she was amazing (I’m not sure if a lot of current students know what an amazing pole dancer Michelle is!) I had to take a break to have thyroid surgery. When I was ready to return I reached out to Michelle and asked if I could come to Rising Goddess and continue my journey.
Looking back, what was your most significant challenge during your journey at RGF?
I’ve kind of already alluded to it, but having so many restarts. I feel like the ultimate comeback kid. I’ve had like 5 significant surgeries during my pole journey and Rising Goddess has always been very supportive, checking on me, and welcoming me back each time. It’s helped to keep me motivated even when things don’t go according to plan.
Share your proudest accomplishment or defining moment during your time at the studio.
I would have to say my flexibility and strength. I’m not a petite person and I’m not naturally flexible. It’s taken a lot of work to be able to do a split on both legs while maintaining active flexibility. This has allowed me to improve my ayeshas to be stronger and flatter, while not losing control.
How have you changed and grown the most over these incredible ten years with us?
I don’t really have pole goals anymore like I did in the early years. I pole because it’s what’s in my heart. When I’m sad or angry and I don’t want to get out of bed, I will always get out of bed to come to pole. I also enjoy helping and inspiring other people who are struggling in their pole journey. If I can still be here after 10yrs, they can too.
