On February 14th, Rising Goddess Fitness held our first ever Aerial Adventure Workshop for kids ages 6 – 12! Kids and parents both shared that this workshop was a hit! The workshop began with a sharing circle to introduce everyone and go over what the workshop would look like. The kids headed to Studio 2 to swing it out in the hammocks! After a fun interactive game kids partnered up. Then, they tried  a variety of fun moves such as the tornado, belly flop, mermaid, shark, gazelle, circus sit and ended with “two peas in a pod”. Next, everyone headed to the kitchen to learn about mindful breathing and how to respond to “big” emotions. A calming glitter jar was our craft! Needless to say there were a lot of sparkles and laughter, and fun was had by all.

Yoga in Studio 1 was the next destination. Everyone had their own mat and practiced a variety of yoga poses such as cow/cat, downward facing dog, cobra, superwoman, shark, puppy, mountain, half moon, star, frog, warrior 2, bear, and finally sleeping bear (savasana). The workshop ended with a bang! Everyone got to jump as high as they could while confetti settled all around them like fireworks!

Round one was so much fun that Rising Goddess Fitness is running another Aerial Adventure Workshop in March called, “Spring is in the Air”. If this sounds like something your child would enjoy, sign up soon, as space is limited. We will see you there on March 20 – from 4 – 6 pm.

Per parent suggestion we are also offering a parent workshop for $20 per person. The first hour (4 – 5 pm) is a focus on mindfulness for children. This will be followed by an hour (5 – 6 pm) of yoga nidra, a relaxing meditation, where participants lay on a yoga mat or in a hammock for the hour of guided meditation.
