Presenting our Goddess Spotlight for the month, Christie!
What inspires you?
So many things, really. I’m inspired when I see great dancers, their fluidity, strength, and power motivate me to keep growing. I thrive on challenges, both for my mind and body. When something looks difficult, I love breaking it down and working toward it step by step, reminding myself that progress matters more than perfection.
I feel constantly inspired in this environment because every teacher offers something unique to learn from and be challenged by. I especially love being upside down and spinning, it’s hard to explain, but it feels so freeing. Moving in that way lets me express myself fully. I was never a gymnast or a dancer, but I love that movement belongs to everyone. There’s no judgment here, and I’m inspired by the way everyone can simply be themselves. Whether it’s in the air or on the ground, movement inspires me to connect, express, and just be free.
What brought you to RGF?
After about a year at another studio, I decided to transfer because I was looking for something new. Somewhere I could continue learning and growing as a dancer. RGF has truly given me just that. In such a short time, I’ve learned so much and seen incredible progress, all thanks to the amazing teachers.
I was also searching for a place that felt more like a community, where I could connect, engage, and build friendships. The people I’ve met here all have such unique stories and are genuinely great people. Since starting at RGF, I feel like I’ve found something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. I’m so grateful for everything RGF offers, from the aerial training to the welcoming, encouraging, and unbelievably supportive environment.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the studio?
Outside the studio, I spend most of my time with my dog, a Labrador Rottweiler who might look tough but is truly the sweetest girl. We love going on nature walks and spending time at the beach. In the summer, you’ll find me around a bonfire, checking out car shows, riding my motorcycle, hitting a bucket of balls, or playing volleyball. When winter arrives, I’m either skiing or escaping to somewhere warmer. When it’s time to relax, you’ll usually find me with a good cup of coffee, binge-watching trash TV, or spending time with family and friends.
What is your favorite thing about pole/aerial
Beyond the physical, it’s also an incredible boost for my mental health. Moving through dance allows me to express myself, feel confident in my body, and simply be happy in the moment. It’s empowering, both mind and body, and has truly become something I look forward to each week.
