Presenting our Goddess Spotlight for the month, Clarice!

What inspires you?

I am deeply inspired by genuine kindness. I’m a big proponent of random acts of kindness, and I’m always inspired when I see people going about their day, doing little (or big!) things to make another person’s day better. It makes my heart happy and inspires me to do the same.

What brought you to RGF?

A few years ago, someone I know posted on Facebook that they had attended a pop-up party at RGF, and I thought the idea of aerial fitness was SO cool. About later, I saw an Instagram post come up for a circus-themed aerial hammock pop-up party, and I realized that I now lived 5 minutes from the studio! I went to the pop-up party by myself and had the absolute time of my life, and met so many nice people (shoutout to the fabulous Danielle for making that class so fun!) I started with hammock from there, then added lyra about 6 months later. Happy to say I’m slowly but surely integrating pole into my repertoire too!

What do you enjoy doing outside of the studio?

Music is a huge passion of mine. I sing in Downers Grove Choral Society, play piano, and enjoy going to musicals and concerts. I’m also a huge nerd, and like to cosplay, play board games, and go to conventions. And, of course, I love spending time with my family, friends, and my hubby!

What is your favorite thing about pole/aerial

Aerial has instilled a new level of joyful confidence in me. In a lot of areas of my day-to-day life, I’ve always felt I had to strive to be competitive with those around me. Since starting my aerial journey, I feel that less, and have instead begun to focus on growing into the me I want to be. Aerial has taught me to listen to my body, be patient with myself, and celebrate wins, both big and small. Nothing hits quite the same as that incredible “I FINALLY understand the move” moment. My new life motto? “Stressed out? Dance it out!” I am forever grateful I’ve found the wonderful little oasis of movement, empowerment, and fun that is Rising Goddess!
