Congratulations to our Student Spotlight of the month, Chay!
What inspires you?
Honestly, everything! Especially life and people. As humans, we are so smart and creative. We really can do anything we put our minds to. Seeing others do that inspires me. It reminds me that I can do anything I put my mind to, too. 💪🏾
What brought you to RGF?
Pole is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I formally started my journey in May 2021 at a different studio. In April 2022, I sustained a shoulder injury due to stress and overtraining, and had to stop. After a long two year hiatus, getting back to pole was all I could think about. So in March of this year (2024), I searched up studios near me, found RGF, called RGF, and spoke with Laurial for over 30 minutes (ya girl was scared and had some life PTSD 😅). I took my first Essentials class in April, and the rest is RGF history 😎
What do you enjoy doing outside of the studio?
I really enjoy baking! I’m low-key a hobby hoarder, so I also enjoy crafting, decorating, organizing, working out, cooking, playing guitar, etc. But my favorite thing to do? Absolutely nothing. Oh, and spending time with Ms. Daisy 🐶💕
What is your favorite thing about pole/aerial?
My favorite thing about pole and aerial hoop is how free it makes me feel. Once I start dancing, it’s like the whole world disappears and nothing matters. I also enjoy the way it challenges me mentally, and physically, while also building confidence in myself. As a woman, I haven’t always had the best relationship with my body, and this helps me to see the good of it for myself. I also REALLY enjoy spinning. Like, really really enjoy spinning. 🙂↔️
The pole community is also one of my favorite things. We’re a group of women who are committed to choosing and bruising ourselves daily, all for the love of pole haha. It doesn’t get any better than that! 😆
