Presenting Our Goddess Spotlight of the Month… Nicole!

What inspires you?

The strength and resiliency of women, coupled with the ability to be vulnerable. I acknowledge that for many women, strength and resiliency comes out of need — you needed to learn to be tough, self-soothe, bounce-back because life often isn’t kind to us. So when a woman has built themselves up from strife, but also knows that it’s ok to prioritize themselves (a process/realization that takes SO much work), they inspire me. There are incredible and amazing women in my life, starting with my mom, my big sister and my best friend. I’ve met many more at RGF.

What brought you to RGF?

I live nearby so I have driven by the studio so many times. It’s so unassuming from the outside! I remember noting one time the word “Fitness” not long after my diabetes diagnosis in late 2023, so I looked the studio up and was intrigued at the idea of dance as a way to help me better take care of myself. I bought a class pack from the Winter Wonderland sale in 2023, but didn’t start until February, and I’ve never looked back!

What do you enjoy doing outside of the studio?

Sewing is my other hobby love. I primarily sew garments for myself, but do dabble in making other items, especially small gifts around the holiday season. You can find my sewing work on Instagram at @nicoleangelinesews

What is your favorite thing about pole/aerial?

My ability to be patient with myself has skyrocketed since starting at RGF. This is due to a combination of my body saying “No that’s not for me, not yet”, instructors and fellow dancers being incredibly supportive of this feeling, and learning to trust the process. Yes, my confidence has also gone through the roof, but I’ve also never said to myself “It’s ok, I’ll keep working on it/I’ll get it next time/I’ll rest” more times in my life.
