This month we’re celebrating RGF’s 10th Anniversary! In celebration, we’re featuring some of our longest members here at the studio.
Presenting Theresa!
What was your most significant challenge during your journey at RGF?
Looking back, I am still encountering my most significant challenge at RGF. I have good aerial days and bad aerial days. Sometimes it seems like I have a sequence of horrible days and I become frustrated. Then, out of the blue, I can conquer everything. My body is always changing. What I could do 5 years ago may be difficult now. Same is true for the opposite.
I try to take a variety of class levels and with different teachers. Revisiting lower level courses reminds me of movement I forgot, challenges me to try my non-dominant side, and strengthens my body memory. The more classes I take helps my movement to become stronger and my creativity to grow. Maybe I cannot do that move that way, but here is something that is inspired by the move. Or can I take the move in a different direction? It is problem solving 101. It helps me to have the good aerial days.
How have you changed and grown the most over these incredible ten years with us?
I love how my aerial journey has given me confidence and made me realize that you can still find good friendships as an adult. I have learned to be a better version of myself. I cannot do it without my fellow RGF friends. I give a big thank you to Michelle and Laurial for creating a space for me to be me and to meet all of you.
I have learned that I can become strong and flexible. I have learned that I can do some pretty incredible things that I never thought was possible. I have learned that movement is key and that you should enjoy the movement.
That is why I have stayed for 10 years and why I will be doing this for hopefully many more years.
My personal growth and my friendships help make my journey happy, fun, and wonderful.
