Natalie was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She grew up in a family of athletes and was always involved in sports, her favorites being gymnastics and volleyball. After graduating from St. Xavier University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Natalie began teaching junior high in a private school. However, she felt like something was missing. She always had a passion for health and fitness and after doing pilates and yoga for years, she wanted to add something new to her workouts. After taking one aerial hammocks class, she was hooked! Teaching aerial hammocks classes at RGF has brought back the two things that Natalie was missing the most- her love for acrobatics and the feeling of camaraderie from being part of a team!

Michelle

Specialty: Pole Fitness, Aerial Hammocks & Aerial Hoops

Michelle’s love of aerial fitness developed under circumstances not uncommon to many women. In 2008, while navigating through a divorce, she was looking for healthy outlets for her stress - something that could help her feel a little more grounded in a period that was personally challenging. Ironically, the very thing she picked to help “ground” herself did not actually involve being on the ground at all! With no prior dance experience, raised in a pretty conservative family and with a job in the corporate world, the last thing she expected was to find herself falling in love with aerial fitness! Because she took a leap of faith and stepped outside of her comfort zone, she grew into a more confident, empowered and self-aware person than she ever could have imagined. Aerial fitness has given her the strength to accept that while life outside the studio walls is uncontrollable, there is one thing she can control for certain. She can choose to find the good in even the most challenging of circumstances.

As aerial fitness helps strengthen your body, feeds your soul and allows you to form amazing friendships, it is impossible not to experience phenomenal growth as an individual. From the moment Michelle first experienced the movement, it became her absolute passion to build a studio that would serve as an outlet for creative expression so that other women may experience the same personal growth that she did. She feels truly blessed to see her dream become a reality and receives tremendous pride from seeing her students flourish.

Barb

Specialty: Pole Fitness and Aerial Hammocks

Barb discovered pole fitness after planning a girl’s night out for her friends. At the time, she was navigating through a challenging time in life and was seeking something new and exciting. She certainly found it in pole fitness! In early 2011, she began taking classes and discovered that pole fitness was not only an amazing workout but helped her develop a new inner and outer confidence. Through her classes, she began to form strong bonds with her fellow classmates and actually met her best friend and business partner, Michelle through taking classes. Starting her fifth decade in life, pole fitness has provided Barb with a renewed energy. She’s never felt stronger - physically or emotionally. Through teaching aerial fitness classes, Barb has become passionate about guiding other women on their own journey of personal growth while helping them meet their fitness goals. She feels privileged to see her students grow and change physically, mentally, and in spirit too. The decision to partner with Michelle to open their own aerial arts studio was a natural one as they shared the same dream and vision of creating a warm, inviting, safe, and encouraging environment where women feel completely accepted.

Barb is an Advanced Pole Moves Certified Instructor and AFAA Certified Group Fitness and Perinatal Fitness Instructor. Her other credentials include completion of the Liquid Motion instructor intensive training, Polga instructor training, and Level 1 and Level 2 Aerial Yoga Instructor Training with Moth Aerial Arts. Additionally, Barb continues to grow her education in aerial arts through private lessons and workshops with aerial arts professionals from all over the world.

Mandy
Specialties: Pole Fitness & Aerial Hammocks

Mandy Higgins started her aerial journey 3 months after her son was born. She loved how pole fitness made her focus more on what her body could do instead of what it looked like. Eventually Mandy decided to venture away from the comfort of pole to try aerial hammocks. She found the two apparatuses complimented each other perfectly. After having such a positive experiance Mandy knew she needed to teach both pole and hammocks. She found her aerial home at Rising Goddess Fitness and hasn't looked back since.
