4 Things to Know Before Your First Class
Whenever trying anything new, it is common to be nervous. We want to put your mind at ease. Our studio is a warm, welcoming and encouraging place and we LOVE new students. Arrive with an open mind and heart and be ready to fully experience your first class at the studio. Every single person you’ll meet at the studio had a first class at one point and most of them started off not knowing anything about Pole or Aerial Fitness. You are going to fit right in. We’ll be in touch with you after your first class, to see how things went! Make sure you have a great first experience by reading these 4 tips prior to your first class with us:
REMOVE ANY LOTIONS PRIOR TO CLASS
Because most of our classes use an apparatus, wearing lotions on the day of class can impact your ability to grip the apparatus. We recommend not applying any lotion on the day of class or doing your best to remove it before attending.
WEAR PROPER ATTIRE FOR THE CLASS YOU ARE ATTENDING
Aerial Hammock and Aerial Yoga Sculpt: Please wear leggings or long workout pants that cover behind your knees. Additionally, wearing a shirt with sleeves is required in order to protect the fabrics and your underarms. Please do not wear rings or clothing with zippers as they will tear the fabrics. Class is held barefoot or in socks.
Aerial Hoop: We recommend wearing leggings or long pants that cover the back of your knees. A tank top or t-shirt is appropriate for this class. For beginner students, leg warmers often help to cushion the backs of the knees as you get used to the apparatus. Class is held barefoot.
Pole Fitness: Most beginner students feel comfortable wearing capri length yoga pants and a tank top or t-shirt. We recommend having at least your calves exposed to allow better grip on the pole. As you progress, you will want to wear shorts to allow for climbing. Class is held barefoot.
All Cross Training Classes: Typical workout attire is great. All classes are held barefoot.
No jewelry policy: Jewelry should not be worn in any of our classes as they can cause damage to the equipment or cause injury to you.
HYDRATE (BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER CLASS)
Drink plenty of water on the day of class. We also suggest that you bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated during class. We have a filtered water cooler available in the studio for you to refill your water bottle.
CHECK THE LOCATION OF YOUR CLASS
We recently expanded and now have two locations within the same plaza! The addresses of the locations are:
Studio A: 208 E. Chicago Avenue, Westmont, IL 60559
Studio B: 212 E. Chicago Avenue, Westmont, IL 60559
Locate which studio space your class will be in by looking at the name of the class description on our schedule. As an example, your class may say “Tier 1: Pole Fitness (Studio A)”. This will let you know which studio to visit for that particular class. If you end up at the wrong studio, don’t worry! They are literally two doors away from each other. We recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your first class, just so you have time to get acclimated.
