Aerial Hoop

The Aerial Hoop, also known as Lyra, is a classic aerial apparatus that allows students to demonstrate a mix of beautiful, graceful movement combined with strength-based maneuvers. All Aerial Hoop classes are 60 minutes in length and may be purchased through enrollment in one of our Membership Clubs or by purchasing a Drop-In Package.

Due to the progressive nature of these classes, new students may only be permitted in Intro classes or Tier 1 classes, unless you have received an evaluation for placement in a higher tier. If you are new to Rising Goddess Fitness and would like to try Aerial Hoop, enroll in one of our Intro or Tier 1 classes by purchasing our New Student Special!

Class Attire: We recommend wearing full length leggings (down to the ankle) for Aerial Hoop classes. Tank tops or shirts with sleeves are appropriate. Class is held barefoot or in socks. Leg warmers can also be useful to help cushion the backs of the knees.

Aerial Hoop Foundations: Absolute Beginner Level

Duration: It is recommended that students take this class several times before moving on to Tier 1. Taking this class at least once is required to enter our Tier 1 Aerial Hoop class (60 minutes per class).

Designed for the absolute beginner, students of this class will be introduced to Aerial Hoop, also known as the Lyra. In this class, basic moves on and in the hoop will be explored. The Aerial Hoop will remain low to the ground, providing beginners an opportunity to safely become familiar with the apparatus. Join us as we learn how to move in this circular apparatus, creating beautiful lines and shapes. But don’t let the beauty and grace of this apparatus deceive you – Aerial Hoop provides an incredible workout that, over time, will develop into substantially increased total body strength!

Prerequisites: None.

Tier 1 and 1.5: Beginner Level

Duration: Students will remain at the Tier 1 Level for a total of 8 weeks (60 minutes per class).

It’s time to take the fundamentals that you learned in our Foundations class up a notch!  Our Tier 1 class will explore basic poses in the hoops, beginner transitions and short sequences.

The Aerial Hoops will remain low to the ground during this level, allowing students to become fully comfortable with the apparatus as they learn fundamental moves such as Man In the Moon, Stag Sit, Secretary Sit and more.

Please note that a Tier 1.5 class on the schedule simply means the class has progressed and is now closed off to any students that haven’t taken several Foundations and Tier 1 classes.
